Hi, friends! 👋🏼
.
For those who don’t know, I started this account four years ago for accountability as I began a healthier lifestyle. I found @toneitup and was committed to giving their nutrition plan and workouts my all.
.
Since then, I’ve lost 20+ pounds, developed a passion for cooking + nutrition, gained confidence, energy, freedom from headaches, stomach pains, ran six marathons, raised thousands of dollars to end human trafficking through those runs, squatted 200+ lbs, connected with some of the most incredible people, started a blog, and SO MUCH MORE!
.
I don’t follow TIU to a “T” like I used to, but they laid the foundation for all I know. I’ve grown and continued to adopt a lifestyle best for me – whether that’s style of workouts, how much I eat, or what I eat. That said, I will always have the upmost respect and GRATITUDE for @katrinaascott + @karenadawn and the community they created. ❤️
.
A little about me for those new around here:
.
1) I love the Lord. When I was 16, I was anorexic, depressed, and felt worthless. Summer 2009, a friend invited me to his youth group. The trajectory of my life forever changed. Following Jesus was hands down the greatest decision I ever made. That decision led me to my husband, best friends, mentors, college, career, FREEDOM, and JOY!
.
2) I have a passion for ministry and empowering women struggling with self worth + body image. Writing, creating, serving, encouraging, sharing what God has done and what He’s doing makes me feel more alive than anything.
.
3) I work full-time doing youth programming for a local school district. I love teenagers. They’re awkward, sassy, hilarious, and desperate for healthy adult influences as they navigate discovering who they are.

4) I have an INCREDIBLE husband. We met when we were 15, best friends for a couple years, been dating since 17, and married at 21 (five years now). He is such a good man, and I am a better woman because of him.
.
5) Some of my favorite things are: dogs, coffee, running, weightlifting, group fitness classes, reading, and dark chocolate. 🥰

(HealthDay News) — About 4 percent of adults have attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), says Harvard University Medical School. Adults with ADHD tend to have more difficulty with attention and memory, rather than with hyperactivity, as with children.

To help manage ADHD in adults, the school suggests:

  • Consider medications such as stimulants, non stimulants and antidepressants.
  • Learn more about ADHD and encourage your family and spouse to learn, too.
  • Establish realistic expectations and achievable goals.
  • Avail yourself of cognitive behavioral therapy or coaching.
