I think with Millenials coming of age to a more early to mid 30's age bracket, we will see more beauty targeted towards pregnancy and child care. So like baby lotions, 'mommy and me' targeted beauty items, etc. This is a sector I have yet to see in Sephora or from major cosmetic brands and it could be hugeeeee.

My trend predictions: more “buzzwords”…. lots of claims that sound cool, but are hard to prove and don’t mean much. Lots more collaborations. Lots more tv/ movie/ pop culture brands x makeup. Lots of skincare/ makeup hybrids.

I think more brands jumping on the “vegan bandwagon” without actually being vegan or cruelty free (certain skincare and body/ hair brands are already doing this!)

Personalized makeup. For example capsule palettes for green eyes, blue eyes, brown eyes… I've seen this with indie brands, plus the new Makeup Geek re-lauch video teased the "Blue eyes quad" that you can put together. Also personalized skincare i.e. Neutrogena. I also agree with the cool neutral trend. If Natasha Denona released a cool nude mini palette, the big sister will come soon too

Did I hear you right? Yellow blush? People want to look like they have jaundice on purpose??

  6. Kathleen Garrett

    January 24, 2020 at 1:20 pm

I feel that natural looks with slight makeup tints like blush, highlighter, contour might come into play.

  7. Jasmine

    January 24, 2020 at 1:20 pm

Did you guys get the beautylish lucky bag this year??

  8. Chelle Manza

Brands are truly missing out on valuable insights by not collaborating with you ladies who actually have your fingers on the pulse of this community. Such a shame!

I want more duochromes and color shifting shades, and more glitter/sparkle in everything. Im simple

You both look so glowy and fresh in this video!

I think there are alot of UK beauty youtubers who over the last 2 years have really embraced more natural looking base make up. So perhaps not as prevalent with the USA but here its taking off…

I bought some items from Clionadh today and I am so excited because they are totally unique to my collection and it's the first beauty sale in 2 years where I was actually very excited. I had a list, an action plan to get my items when the sale went live before they sold out etc and I was mostly sucessful 😀

Literally sitting here with a nude eye and a pop of purple in the inner corner! BRING ON PURPLE!!

I think you guys are bang on about blush coming back and how Jefree star influences trends.
In the video Shane uploaded today they are discussing releasing a blush/ highlight pallet like the cover fx one. And jefree has never made blushes before so I think blushes are coming backkkk

Which I’m happy because I am such a blush girl and finding the perfect cream blush or cheek stain is hard!

  15. CanzaMucha

    January 24, 2020 at 1:20 pm

I wish for that pastel trend to happen!

  16. AThousandLives

    January 24, 2020 at 1:20 pm

I feel like even though I am newer to the „Beauty World“ and still more in the hype phase, there def are already things we can learn from people going through low-buys. Especially when it comes to how long a certain product will last you, so maybe don‘t buy three of the same thing, but compare and pick the best one or buy higher quality but less product; will you really use this product a enough etc.

    January 24, 2020 at 1:20 pm

I totally agree regarding the blush because my favorite blushes are completely gone and I've noticed those products* haven't been replaced by the brands that sold them.

    *edit for clarity

  19. Jennifer Lyons

    January 24, 2020 at 1:20 pm

I think clear packaging is as attractive and functional as clear platform shoes!

  20. Leslie Sammons

    January 24, 2020 at 1:20 pm

I predict many of the big “gurus” doing heavy full coverage, cakey, makeup that are pushing codes and selling products to come crashing down. It’s already begun and I hope it continues.

  21. Leslie Sammons

    January 24, 2020 at 1:20 pm

I agree so much with the “Mob mentality” concept with makeup. It’s applicable with just about everything but I have definitely fallen victim with my makeup spending being fed by mob mentality makeup spending

  22. Réka Mészáros

    January 24, 2020 at 1:20 pm

I said it before but I want Soft Glam but in a cool toned version. I'm a winter type and warm shades don't suit me. I hate that all "cool palettes" are either so light that it looks like dust, or they are just grey or they are just blue or if it's a mauve, it's too rosy… Essence Salut Paris palette was a nice idea but was very lackluster. The minute someone makes a my dream cool palette, I will spend all my money on it, till then I just use my cheap singles. Or if it's not happening in a couple months, I'll just make one for myself.

Kylie Jenner Surprisingly Did Not Think Her Beauty Company Would Be Successful

It seems like everything comes easy for the Kardashians and the Jenners. They’re rich. They’re famous. Kylie Jenner’s daughter literally had a theme park constructed in honor of her first birthday party — yeah, they’re that rich.

So it’s weird to hear about any struggles or apprehensions the family has. Who can forget Khloe Kardashian’s ill-advised comments on the price of coffee? That went over well.

But during a recent interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Jenner surprisingly revealed that she never thought her beauty company would be so successful.

The origins of Kylie Cosmetics

When Keeping Up with the Kardashians premiered in 2007, Jenner was just 10-years-old. In the early 2000s, it was hard to imagine that the youngest member of the Kardashian clan would one day be the richest. But much to everyone’s surprise, that’s exactly how it turned out.

Jenner started Kylie Cosmetics in 2015. A year later, the reality star told Complex that she had big dreams, telling the magazine: “I want to be as big as the other [cosmetic] brands. It’s my dream to be on Forbes.”

Fast forward a few years and Jenner is named Forbes’ youngest self-made billionaire and has one of the biggest makeup brands in the industry.

Kylie Jenner never imagined her company would find such success

As we said, everything seems to come so easy to the Kardashian family. So it’s natural to assume Jenner had no problem picturing herself achieving her dreams. But in a recent interview with Harper’s Bazaar, the beauty mogul explains how that’s not exactly how things played out.

When the interviewer asked the 22-year-old if she ever envisioned her company would be so successful, Jenner responded: “I didn’t think it was possible.”

She continued: “I didn’t think that this could really be my job. I always loved makeup, though. I wanted to watch tutorials. I would play with my own makeup or my mom’s. I’ve always loved makeup, and I was obsessed with lipstick.”

And actually, Jenner’s apprehensions make sense. Though her sisters have dabbled in the beauty industry, none of them has ever found any real tractions. While the older sisters have found success as reality stars, it’s the younger Jenner sisters who have been able to branch out and find success outside the show.

The secret formula to Kylie Cosmetics

What is the secret formula that has made Kylie Cosmetics so successful? And how has Kylie Jenner achieved so much at such a young age? From what it appears, the company’s success is more of a family affair.

During the interview, mother Kris Jenner revealed that Kylie Jenner takes care of the creative side of the business and is the “CEO, CMO, and CCO.” Kris Jenner, on the other hand, is in charge of the business side — everything that goes on behind the scenes.

Since the beginning of KUWTK, Kris Jenner has always been the momager. She has been credited for her children’s success and ultimately the success of the show. Kylie Jenner says she’s probably more like her mom than the rest of the children when it comes to her entrepreneurial drive.

So what’s the secret to Kylie Jenner’s success? It’s a whole lot of hard work combined with some smart business decisions. Oh, and throw in the Kardashian name, that certainly doesn’t hurt.

When you grow up in the spotlight and are raised to know nothing else, you have to find a way to make it work. When it comes to Kylie Jenner and Kylie Cosmetics, the young star certainly has found a way to make it work.
